🍀 Corktown — Detroit’s Oldest & Trendiest

Corktown is Detroit’s oldest surviving neighborhood — Irish roots, Mexican and European immigrant influences, and now one of the city’s trendiest spots. The remodeled Michigan Central Station opened in 2024 as a 30-acre tech hub, and tours sell out fast — book through Detroit History Tours.

🎨 Midtown — Detroit’s Cultural Heart

Midtown is Detroit’s cultural engine — home to Wayne State University, the Detroit Medical Center, and 12 cultural institutions. The Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA) has over 100 galleries and 65,000 artworks, including Diego Rivera’s famous Detroit Industry Murals. The Charles H. Wright Museum is one of the largest museums dedicated to African American history.

🛒 Eastern Market — Foodie Paradise

The largest open-air market in the United States — 43 acres of fresh produce, flowers, baked goods, and artisan crafts from farmers across southeast Michigan. Saturdays are the main event — up to 40,000 shoppers.
